How the weekend works

Every Luminous weekend brings together three things: a beautiful setting, gentle wellness practices, and real connection with a small group of women.

This is how a two night weekend runs. Our one night weekends follow the same shape, starting on Saturday.

Friday evening

We arrive Friday afternoon or early evening, whatever works best for you. Come early if your day allows it. An afternoon enjoying the spa or a massage before dinner is a lovely way to arrive into the weekend. That evening, we gather as a group before dinner, to check in with ourselves and with each other, and see how we're feeling at the start of the weekend. Then a pre-dinner drink and a delicious meal, an opportunity to get to know each other and chat.

Saturday

Saturday morning, we'll get together before breakfast for a wellness practice, including a morning meditation to start the day with intention. A delicious breakfast together, then, weather depending, we might take a walk around the grounds, a nice way to get out in nature and chat as you go. After that, the afternoon is free for you to enjoy the beautiful spa facilities, have a massage, a facial, a swim, check out the sauna, or enjoy the luxury of an afternoon nap. In the evening, we get dressed up and have dinner in the hotel's restaurant, the more indulgent part of the weekend. Incredible food, a nice glass of wine, and some quality time connecting with the group.

Sunday

Sunday, we meet before breakfast for our morning wellness practice and some journaling to close out the weekend. A last breakfast together, a walk around the grounds if you fancy it, before travelling back home whenever works best for you.

The practices

The wellness practices will be a mix of gentle yoga, breath work, journaling, meditation, and other guided practices. The yoga movements are there to ground us, to help move us out of our heads and into connection with our bodies. This is a gentle practice, and alternatives are always offered for anyone with an injury or a condition.

Aoife hosts the weekend and leads some of the practices herself. She also brings in guest teachers, practitioners and friends in the wellness space from her network in Ireland and internationally. She is a qualified yoga teacher, holding a 200-hour YTT accredited by Yoga Alliance Professionals UK and Yoga Alliance USA.
